Demetrius Johnson Obituary: 44-Year-Old Anderson Man Killed in Fatal Head-On Crash Near Clemson

Demetrius Johnson Obituary,  PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified 44-year-old Demetrius Rashad Johnson of Anderson as the man who died following a fatal head-on collision near Clemson early Sunday morning.

According to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, in the 200 block of Pendleton Road (Highway 93) near Clemson. Officials responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious two-vehicle collision.

The preliminary investigation determined that Johnson was driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash. Authorities said Johnson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Emergency responders pronounced Johnson dead at the scene. Pickens County Coroner Andrew Wilson said Johnson died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the crash.

Two occupants from the second vehicle involved in the collision were injured and transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Their identities and current conditions have not been released by authorities.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Pickens County Coroner’s Office and the Clemson Police Department. Officials have not released details regarding what may have caused the collision.

Demetrius Rashad Johnson’s death has left family, friends, and members of the community mourning the loss of a loved one. As authorities continue their investigation, additional details may be released when available.
