Jessica Ruby Obituary, MARION COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI — A tragic shooting in Marion County has claimed the life of Jessica Ruby, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities confirmed that an 89-year-old Foxworth man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal incident.
Investigators identified the suspect as Raymond Johnson, who has been charged with first-degree murder following the shooting that occurred on June 26, 2026, in the area of the Highway 35 Bypass near Jones Lane in Marion County.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting and arrived to find Ruby suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting her to a local hospital for further care.
Despite lifesaving efforts by medical staff, Ruby later died from her injuries at the hospital. Her death has left the local community mourning as authorities continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following an investigation, law enforcement officials arrested Johnson and booked him into the Marion County Jail, where he remains in custody pending upcoming court proceedings.
