Parker Wiechart Obituary, ST. MARYS, OHIO — A 23-year-old Mercer County man has died following a motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in St. Marys, according to the St. Marys Police Department. Authorities identified the victim as Parker Wiechart of Celina.
Police said Wiechart was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control while traveling through the intersection of Kishler Street and Indiana Avenue. Investigators reported that the motorcycle’s rear tire struck a curb, which caused the bike to become unstable and led to Wiechart being ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders from the St. Marys Police Department and St. Marys Fire Department were dispatched to the scene shortly after the crash. Wiechart was transported by ambulance to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel.
Authorities noted that Wiechart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Officials have not confirmed whether speed, road conditions, mechanical issues, or other contributing factors played a role in the incident.
The St. Marys Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Additional details are expected to be released as investigators complete their review of the scene and piece together the events leading up to the collision.
